Food ~ SHELTER IN THE WOODS

Oh yes! shelter in the woods. Serving French food. Have you guys heard of it? Its worth going there for some good food and great ambience's! Located at the west of Singapore. Not really that far though, as there are buses , but you got to make a walk inside. Well it will be great if you are driving though. Went there on Tuesday with mum n my friend for dinner.. All the way from the North of Singapore.. Thank goodness its worth it! Every single moment!

Now let me share about the food and experience I had there.
Service, was so exceptionally awesome, it's been a long time since I have encounter good service in Singapore! Was a little shy, because of the so warm service that they offered. Very detail explanations, when I asked about the food. Service personnel are filled with good knowledge of the food that is serve in the restaurant.

Food, we had tomato soup for the start, the tomato soup is very refreshing, sweet and perfectly blended! Ordered their signature suckling pig, trued to its reviews, really crispy skin, I can even hear myself munching away on the skin, and tender pork meat... its really a wonder, mum was enjoying herself, eating 2 of the 5 pieces served! Next was a sea bass, fresh fish , with NO fishy smell, and nice tomato salsa, served with fennel that taste wonderfully matched , eaten with the sea bass together. We ordered the Cassoulet too... there is duck, mutton and a few other meat in there, perfectly done, my favourite dish of all. We got 2 sides to go along too, the roasted vegetables, smell and taste just so good, with zucchini, capsicum, egg plant, the other side was cheese macaroni, seriously nothing can ever go wrong with cheese added! HA HA by the time we finish all these food, we were so full~ So we ordered 2 tarts to take away, the chocolate tart and the lemon tart. Let me say, you must really order their chocolate tart, its like ooo wooo WOW! If you are a true blue chocolate lover, this tart is a must order.. Well for the lemon tart , I found it too sweet, but still its not too bad.

They serve white wine, red wine, cocktails, and other drinks too!
Perfectly ideal for a good chill-out sessions with friends and family, pretty ideal for couples too, with their cosy ambience's ! Faster make a reservation now with them! On weekends its definitely full house, seating capacity is not a lot, small restaurant. So most advisable to do your booking with them early!

Food - LIME Restuarant buffet

Had a sudden craving for some buffet spread. Picked Lime restaurant @ Pickering road as my choice for today. Set in a really good location around the central of Singapore. One thing I can say is that the restaurant , has a really good homely ambience's , which I loved it. Everything is just so comfortable, the chairs, the spacious area, for us to move around. Good place to sit have a drink and chilled.

Let's get down to the food, I can say, there are other buffets that are more worth it out there, having eaten so many buffets in town, the food at Lime was rather disappointing. Nothing special that I could remember. Cold side, the salads, are mostly a remake of other hotels, selection of cheese was rather blah, 1 emmental and the other 3 is blue cheese. western and Chinese selection has got really nothing. The lamb craving was rather bland, with no herbs seasoning and no salt, pepper. It's tender, but to the extend of being mashy. The pastry side, their special lime marshmallow was badly doned, so sweet and no taste of lime, selections at the pastry side was very minimal. Only 2 choice for the ice- cream with no topping. For 58++ , not worth it at all.

Service, is really good and attentive, maybe it was a weekday dinner, so it is not busy. And then we have all the attention of the service staff to our tables. But billing was rather slow, took a long time before I received my bill and to signed my bill.

Lastly, except for the good ambience's setting, I definitely won't recommend this buffet.
And of course, I wont be back here. But if for the drinks maybe....

Beauty - Aromatherapy massage @ Green Sanctuary Thebodyshop

Oh ment ! Every part of my body aches, because of my work. From my shoulders all the way down to my foot. Been searching around on where to get a decent massage.

Saw Green Sanctuary , from thebodyshop. Thus decided to give it  try. I picked the aromatherapy massage 60 mins @ $85. I am a bodyshop member , I have a $25 voucher rebate. So I only paid $60. Which is quite a good deal from me. Hmm and I think if you are a bodyshop member, there will be some discount on the treatments.

My experience~ My therapist, was a middle age lady. I would say she was really friendly, and warm. I didn't remember her name though. The room is very relaxing filled with aromatherapy scent... I just slept pretty much for that 1 hour, its just so so so relaxing. Her skills I could say was quite good. She focus more on my shoulders, which I am so thankful for. Another thing I like about here, is there is NO hard selling! Oh ment, do you know I dread those beauty place with all those hard selling tactics, just cant stand it! But at Green Sanctuary, there wasn't any , which is good! After the massage, my therapist even proceeded to get a warm towel, to wipe off the aromatherapy oil, as she said some people may not like the sticky feelings. Very thoughtful indeed! Haha, was thinking why 1 hour passed so fast, hoping that it was longer. Well overall, I am pretty pleased with the service at the Green Sanctuary.Worth to give that a try! I am bringing my mum and friends there too!

There is a number of treatments, like massage, facial and scrub~~ So what are you waiting for, faster call now and make a appointment!

Beauty - Some ways to rid dandraff

Natural Remedies to get rid of Dandraff...

some information I found on the web..

Tea tree oil:

what gives tea tree oil its dandruff fighting ability is its antifungal properties. It gets rid of the yeast which is known to cause dandruff. The oil appears to be effective and well tolerated in the treatment of dandruff. Massage tea tree oil into scalp after washing and drying your hair. Another way is to add a few drops to your daily shampoo.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

To rinse scalp with a 1-to-1 mix of apple cider vinegar to water.

There are many other ways to get rid of dandruff in a natural way, take your time and search through the web, to get ideas and methods. To find the best methods suitable for you, as everybody is different.

Well, for now my beauty regime... I shall not coloured my hair anymore, as it makes my scalp so much more sensitive and produced dandruff.. And I shall try out this two ways, to see if it really works!! All the best to be and people out there with this dandruff problem!!!

Both are proven to reduce dandruff overtime...

Maybe people who faces this problem can try this out. Better then go to the expensive saloons to do their expensive treatments.

Beauty - Hair -JeanYip Saloon

Hey Peeps!  Well it have been some times since I blog , pretty busy these days. But now I am back with more updates, recommendations and experiences!

Today I shall blog about my trip to Jean Yip Saloon at Bugis Junctiom!

Totally horrible experience. Don't recommend to step into that particular saloon.
Reasons based on my experience ....

1. Hard sell
2. Washing of hair without warm water
3. No credit card transaction during payment
4. Stylist was very rough with my poor hair
5. Not a friendly relax environment
6. Bad skills in cutting of hair, I seriously don't like it.

Well, here my story goes... My hair is already super out of shape, I have had short locks... as you know for short locks we got to maintain always... So decided to just go to any saloon , without appointment to have a haircut. I have heard many stories about Jean Yip, (bad stories) , but well , I still went ahead and tried, wanting to proof otherwise. BUT! now I am really sure of all the bad stories that I heard from my friends are really true! $35 for haircut and wash blow is quite reasonable to me. So I was ushered to get my hair wash first, damm, with COLD water! Because my dear shampoo girl said , OH sorry today there's no hot water.. OK well fine then...
Stylist ask me what style I wanted, and then proceeded to cut my hair... seriously the few strands that he cut was so little... not exactly the style I imagined and wanted... No choice... what's cut can't be put back...
Well, this days I have been a little stress, and I changed my shampoo , so I have been experiencing a bit of itchy scalp and dandruff.. so the stylist saw and keep pestering me to take up a dandruff cleansing treatment... well at first he said, don't worry,  I will do the treatment for you later... without seeking my permission first, is only when he saw me with a reluctant face, then he ask is it OK? I say nope.. cause I still prefer my own way of getting dandruff off... Home remedies.... as dandruff may occur in a person from time to time... Well he keep pestering, even when the assistant was blowing my hair, talking so loudly.. I can feel all eyes on me in the saloon, from the customer to all the people working there. He even wanted me to do some other treatment! I kept saying no No NO! Well no wonder the saloon was pretty empty... Now I know why...
And lastly, at the payment, I wanted to used card payment, but the girl at cashier, said they cant used card payment, no reason was given. Luckily there is still $35 in my wallet... If not.... what a joke...

This will be my first and last time in that saloon! Never will go there for any treatment or services.... Will definitely not recommend any people there too. Seriously what a joke for such a big company, So desperate in hard selling, even to the extend of embarrassing the customer with her scalp condition openly for the world to know!

FOOD - PARIS BAGUETTE

P/BA

HA, the moment I saw it has landed in Singapore wisma shopping centre, I was so happy! Like finally I can just eat it in Singapore. Need not,  just have to wait when I am in Korea!

It has got a big number of outlets in Seoul, basically everywhere I walked I see one of this outlets! The outlets in Seoul, produced beautifully created full cakes a well and taste really good! yummmmsssss................. so don't forget to buy the cakes when you are in Seoul to try!

Well, so I went right down to the one located at wisma, with my mum and friends... but the pricing , I kind of feel its a little bit expensive compared to Seoul, but nevertheless its still worth going there for your tea-time break!

cakesssss

The kiwi and the orange juice, is from the fresh fruit itself. The fruit ice shaving is also worth trying, top with many fruits and the yogurt is also awesome, a must try!

Lastly! The few choices of salads, made freshly by the wonderful chefs!

So remember to add this place to your list of hanging out for tea!

TRAVEL - PENANG

Penang! Is a city in Malaysia...
Just went there once, and I really loved it !

Its a place filled with beautiful seas, great variety of food and friendly people.
Penang, one thing not to missed, is the awesome food that they have there..
My favourite is the Penang Laksa, never had it so good before, until I tasted it in Penang.
And remember to buy lots of tau sau piah back!
The hotel, that we stayed is 4 star, " Evergreen Laurel Hotel" Located at a really convenient location, gurney drive, down the streets is filled with shopping centre and many many yummilious foodies..
Do check out Penang Hill, great place to have some good fresh air, with a breathe-taking scenery! Another good place to check it out, is the Pernarakan Museum.
Airasia flies there everyday, at a low price, do book earlier to get a cheaper ticket!
